Rating: 4/5
Alice has a perfect life and then the mysterious calls started... is her husband having and affair or is he having something else? Did she really know what was he hiding or it's better to remain unknown of the truth? This is a difficult choice, but no matter what she decides, her life will change completely.
"People reach an age where they have to live their own lives. Too often beautiful boys make unhappy men. I flicked through the new pages. There was an article about Araminta Lyall with the 'Dering Street' picture in colour: royal blue chocker, pencil skirt, siren smile".
I have to say I was completely startled with this book, it makes you rethink your life and how you see the people near you; T.A. Cotterell makes fear an art!
This is a slow pace crime book, you will feel Alice's agony on your skin, her life will never be the same but she has to decide, living with fear or telling the truth. Who will win?
Can you feel Alice fear? The hear racing, how the things go slower, the silence in every corner...
This is one of these books that after you read it you have to re-read some of the pages and think about what you have read, because it's fiction but Alice doubts and fears are so real that you will have your own doubts to decide what to do!
This book will be with me for a long time, and I would like to have a hole to know how's Alice living right now!
Do you prefer the truth or a white lie?
