Could it be that our lives are predestined with a pattern? That no matter how we change our path, our destiny will remain always the same?
This is the love story of Eva and Jim, how they meet or not meet, their life together and separate, how the fate had united them no matter the circumstances, they will belong together.
"As they talk, Eva has the sense that she is drifting further and further from the room, into a borderless place where time fractures, loosens, and there is only this man, this conversation, this inexplicable sense of profound connection. There is no other way she can describe it, though she is not yet trying to describe it to herself - she is simple here, intentensely aware of the moment (the nearness of him, the soft rise and fall of his voice) as the rest of the world drops away."
This book reminds me of the film "Sliding Doors", how a little trick of destiny can change the path of our protagonists Eva and Jim.
This book was like a labyrinth, you had 3 entrances to choose but you always arrived at the centre, of course it would not been easy (life is never easy...).
I really liked the idea of this book, following the life of these two characters, how their paths cross in their different stages of life, but sometimes it was a little bit tricky to follow their story. You have their life told in three versions, so every chapter is a different version of their life, making at the beginning difficult to know which version you where reading.
This will be your summer read, because it's not just one book, it's three in one! But remember, if you have a little accident with your bicycle, maybe you are crossing your path with the love of your life... Will you stop or continue pedalling?
